Cerebral (brain) Palsy (lack of muscle control) is an inclusive term used to describe a group of non-progressive disorders occurring in young children in which damage to the brain causes impairment of motor function.
M. Sivarohini is 37 years old and has sadly been abandoned by her husband. She is living with her child in Mallavi, a village in Sri Lanka. She is also taking care of her elderly parents and her siblings. Her child is studying in grade one.
Regional health department of Anuradhapura requested help for 70 patients who are badly affected by leprosy. However, ICI elected 20 patients out of the 70, due to financial constraints, to provide transport to clinics for a period of one year and elected 15 patients, who are below poverty line to provide nutritious food over a period of one year.

Sivarohini has been abandoned by her husband. She is living with her child, her two mildly mentally disabled sisters due to civil war, brother and her elderly father in Mallavi, Kilinochchi district. Her child is studying in grade one. Sivarohini does spinning and weaving sarees at home with hand machine, for her living. We are privileged enough to assist her to expand her business to support her family.She is willing to expand her micro business, train and provide employment to women of her community. We will be continuously working with her to assist her community.
